I didn't take good care of myself, the sleepless nights, the unhealthy eating habits (as I work night shifts, and ordering fast food, Mac Donalds is my part and parcel). During that time, I have to keep bending down to carry my dog, and after a prolong period of time, I felt a sharp pain when bending down. When I was eating some fried noodles, I felt so uncomfortable like a pain at my heart.
- I went for few checkups, went to A&E, to do blood test, x-ray, ecg.
- Next day I went to cardiologist, and the test report came back fine.
- I went to see ENT, as i felt things are stuck at my throat, and the neurologist said no problem.
- Then I felt there's "nerve" problems, as my legs and hands felt numb. The doctor said my eyes, one eye is higher than the other, and I went for MRI brain check. The results are okay.
In the end, I knew is gastric problem but I did not do a scope, as it was quite invasive. So I based on all the symptoms to try and improve my gut health. The first few, weeks I was on Gaviscon advance and gastric pill. I am still trying to figure out more, and recently, I have to deal with my hair loss problem which I believe might be linked to gut health.
Currently, I am not on any gastric pill or Gaviscon, I went on diet that I found online and shared on my blog, to prevent acid reflux. I also ate more probiotics and prebiotics, gradually I felt better. But I realized that I can no longer eat Mc Donalds and limit my bubble tea intake, as the pearls are hard to digest. During that time on a daily basis, I drink ginger water, eat 1 tbsp of Manuka honey. Fennel tea and cuplaton pill helped with my gas pain.
In the past, I relied on using powdered fiber drinks to regulate my bowel daily, which is why I shared an article on my blog about having too much fiber is an issue. Now, I rely more on vegetable smoothie and fruits for my daily bowel. Kombucha is not suitable for me, I am not sure why, perhaps I drink too much or it is too strong. Now, I don't take supper, as it takes time to digest the food. I also learnt that the importance of chewing your food, saliva production, and also shared a method that worked for me when I had throat tightness.
Now when bending over, I will not do so quickly, I will squat down slowly instead. It is a series of lifestyle changes that I need to make, and also improve on my overall health.
At my darkest point of time during my gastric problem, I felt it was so serious that I am trying my best to stay alive. I started seeing dark figures, sitting around me, I thought they were my family members but they are not. It felt like I have fallen into a dark hole, and cant climb up and so helpless, keep trying to find someone who can help me.
I have met auntie Ivy, whom I think I can feel her bright light shining, she taught me coffee enema which I only done few times. Dr Chong, who is the one who brought me back on the right track of mind. Tricia, who helped lessen my pain using Seifu. Dr Bryan, my chiropractor who helped me with my scoliosis and neck pain.
Lastly and the person who saved me is my Sinseh, Desmond, he will ask me how are you and listen to me patiently about how I felt. I was in a daze mode, my eyes was mostly close at every session. I can only hear him, and know that he tried his best to treat me. Eventually, he is the one who pulled me out from the very dark hole that I can't seemed to get out.
Everyone is afraid of death, life is so vulnerable, this is what I have learnt. In the past, I didn't care about my body, and I have learnt from the hard way, and would like to share some useful information.
(Please note I am not a doctor, I am just sharing my experience and readings with gut problems)
